Dan Rendler

Dan Rendler, Director of Customer Programs and Assistance for SoCalGas has over 30 years of experience in the energy industry.  As a leader in the nation’s largest natural gas distribution utility, Dan has developed a diverse and extensive background.  His experience includes leadership roles in marketing, customer contact, customer service, gas distribution operations, environment and safety, emergency services and technology & new product development.

 

In his current role, Dan leads the development, administration, and implementation of energy efficiency and low income assistance programs for over 21 million consumers in Southern California.  His responsibilities include leading clean energy policy and strategic advocacy for all customer energy-savings programs, including disadvantaged communities, and local and institutional governments.  Additionally, Dan is responsible for leading SoCalGas’ strategy for zero net energy buildings, including outreach to the builder community to facilitate a clean energy future for new construction in Southern California.

 

Dan is currently on the Board of the Consortium for Energy Efficiency in addition to the Inland Empire Economic Partnership where he is a past Chairman of the Board, earning the distinguished “President’s Award” in 2009 for his leadership with the Partnership.  He is a past member of the University of Redlands Board of Trustees and currently serves on the School of Business Dean’s Executive Advisory Board.  Dan also serves on the University of California, Riverside A.G. Anderson Graduate School of Management Dean’s Executive Advisory Board.  Dan is a member of the Goodwill Southern California Board of Directors, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society California Southland Chapter Board of Trustees.

 

Previously, Dan served as a member of the Association of Energy Engineers, Association of Professional Energy Managers, Pacific Rim Consortium on Energy and Enertek Venture Capital Advisory Board.  He was a Founder and past Councilman for the Crescenta Valley Town Council and was a Reserve Seargent for the LA County Sheriff’s Department.  Additionally, Dan served the community of Redlands as a Reserve Police Officer and was appointed to the City Climate Action Task Force and Disaster Council.

 

Dan earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State University Northridge and his MBA from the University of Redlands with honors, receiving the Gordon Atkins Award for life-long learning and being inducted into the Whitehead Leadership Society.
